Ok,
Not sure if this has been asked before or offered as an upgrade/ebay thingy...
Why wasn't the Mk3 offered with a "correct" RHS indicator stalk?
My Mk1 was OK indicators on RHS,
I'm now used to it on my Mk3 but it's taken me 6 years to get used to indicating on the LHS while all Oz cars are RHS...
I still get an occasional day when I have a brain fart or miss particularly when juggling lights/wipers/indicators.
Please tell me I'm not alone on this or is it a Germany conspiracy to prepare us all to drive VW's or Audi's?...
Kez

Just reach across with your right hand. Or do like everyone else on the road, ignore the indicators. :snack:

The right hand indicator stalk was stopped in mid 1976 on the MK2 models in favour of the later system.

I know what you mean about Aus being different - I know when I've come home after a long stay downunder I was switching on the wipers to go round a corner for days!

Jap cars in the UK kept the right hand indicator up till quite recently - some may still have it here.

none of the Capri '3 stalk' set-ups had a right side indicator stalk ..
tis pants too, all my old cars had the indicators on the left ..
however our RAV is on the left, and my '98 Mitsubishi Challanger was too ..
have often wondered best way forwards to switching back ..

Just a wee V8, hopefully Rumbling again soon...

Almost all my cars have the indicators on the left, but I do tend to drive British, French and German built cars, only exception being my Ford Ranger ute-built in Thailand at the Ford/Mazda factory - which gets its windscreen cleaned a lot going around corners.
Just replace your other cars with ones that aren’t on the ACCC airbag recall list, you’ll find there’s a pretty good inverse correlation going on there… ;)
As for Oz cars, no such thing - we don’t make them anymore...
