This was a very wet and windy weekend indeed, but a bit past mid day Saturday the sun came and it got nice and hot.
The weather lasted just in time to finish the cruise in the afternoon.

This is a bit special one.
Homebuilt with hybrid Sierra/Scorpio front suspension and a 9" rear axle, and together they make 4x4 system..
It's also powered by a 4 litre Explorer engine.
The same fella also have also put a 460BB in his US spec capri, still with stock firewall!

This one is probl the most expensive Capri in Norway.
It features all the items featured in the RS catalouge at that time, built at the factory too!

    302 powered.
This rips! It has theroretical top speed of 224MPH!!!
With 500hp and under 1000kg it would not be far off!
It has been clocked at 150+ mph at the end of the Rudskogen Gatebil track, one of the highest for street driven cars.
I has also been co driver in this and it goes 60mph in first gear! I belive this is the fastest car I've been in so far.

As you see, most people here prefer the Mk3 look as most calls them, right or not.

And my finally got his car driving again.
Monday before the the meeting he yanked out my 2.3 engine that has been nothing but trouble (MOT related), and Tuesday I helped him installing his old BOA engine back in and by late evening we had it running.
Themostat and charging issues almost ended our goal, but he got there in the end.
I was so happy for him.
This has not been on the road for 2 years due engine issues related to my engine and family and lack of time.
The BOA engine have never failed even at 200k miles and still runs sweet!

    Saturday morning started like this...

    At noon
    [IMG]

Some even had a sales stand in the poor weather
    [IMG]

    2x 26M
    [IMG]

And suddenly the sun came, in every other direction it was raining.

And parked on the outside of the area was this Cortina
    [IMG]

And this modded Mondeo ST220 which I loved.
This had a full resto and the rear arches are wider than stock.

In total there were 74 Capris and 8 guest cars.
Sadly 2 more Capris has to leave on Friday, so we could have been 76 cars, and even 79 if 3 more had not broken down on their way to the meeting.

In the afternoon we has a cruise to Bø i Telemark which are located about 8 miles from the meeting location.

In Bø we stopped at the train station to take some pictures.
We never had this many cars attending the cruise so this was a real sight along the road.
There were also new record at the meeting from 69 cars in 2014 to 74 this year.
    Back to the train station...

On our way back to the show area
    [IMG]

Sunday came and after pictures were taken of the winners and we had said goodbye to our good friends, it was time to drive home (110 miles or so)

Seljord can be seen in the end of the lake
    [IMG]

Sadly it was work to one of the bridges, so it blocked the scenery a bit...
This is btw of the other side of the fjord when looking at the pics I took in 2012 on our way to the meeting where I drove doenhill some hairpin turns...

And I always seems to forget to take pictures as I'm nearing home.
So this is the last picture for the trip, about 1.5 hour from home at Nissedal.
This road has massive cracks, hieves, holes, some up to 4" deep/high, but speeding here is better than driving slow.
This has been in the news as one of the worst roads in south, and cars leaves landmarks all the time.
Doing 50-60mph was fun in a car that handles.
Was like dring a go-cart on bad roads lol
It's only the section along the Nissedal fjord that are bad, the rest is great.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures from Norway :)

Looks like a full club spirit there, and not every place looks so scenic in bad weather. Glad you got your hands dirty and saw good result from it...

Yep great bunch of people that made a great event.
The board which I'm a member of did a excelent work to celebrating the 50 anniversary of the Capri and the 35 years of the norwegian Capri club.
The planning took a lot of work, the normal visitors diden't notice that as everything did go so smoothly
And I'm very found of that place.
Next year we will be back to the same place as last year in Gol.
Hopefully I get my car up and running by then.

Oh I forgot we had visitors from Sweden, Denmark, Germany and there was a single chap from Switzerland too.

    Nice to see the pictures!

I really wanted to go, but we had a race in my endurance series that weekend so I really couldn't leave my team.

Seems you had the same weather as we had in 1999, in Capri/Strömstad, Sweden, when we celebrated the 30th anniversary. That time I drove my Capri all the way down there. Now I think I would have trailered it. I'm getting lazy...

    We'll meet up later ;)

Yep I remember the meeting at Capri Camping/Strömstad very well :D
Been to every Capri meeting since 96' and I also visited the Capri meeting at Axamo in early 2000's when the norwegian Capri club attended there.

    Thank you!

We look forward to see you sometime in the future ;)

Next year the venue is held at Gol, about 120miles north of this years meeting.
And the year after that we may have the meeting 500 miles further north from Gol, to try to gather members from north as we seldom see cars from above the mid norway.
If so, I look really forward to drive on different roads way further up than we usually do.

Gol by road is only 1611km from Ijmuiden ferry .. can save 150 km using the ferry from Denmark .. ..
    wee bucket list drive there
in 2008 I drove Rumbly from Ijmuiden to Thuir, by Perpignan in South of France, that was around the same distance .. so I know its do-able !!!

Thank you for liking the pictures :)
Yep we have wide spread of cars in our club.

I have allways liked Mondeo's, not Mk2 tho, too round ish.
My daily is a 01' 1.8 petrol with 125hp, 11 years in my ownership.
Hopefully it will pass the MOT next week so it will last the next 2 years.
