Saying hello from Essex. as I pick up my Capri tomorrow and cannot wait. It’s a 2.8i special in Paris blue.
Last time I had a Capri was 34 years ago and that was a Diamond white special. Had to sell it due to house buying and kid on the way, etc etc and always missed that car.
Last owner had it for about 10 years, who was very fussy, and did a lot of detail work, but still a few jobs needed, I’m glad to say. I need to work on them as they then feel like they are properly mine. (Sad I know).

Got some questions, surprise surprise! But they can wait for a bit until I’ve done a few miles.
will post some picks once I get it.

    Welcome aboard
any questions just ask no question is a stupid one, have a good look about on here, and when you pick yours up get some pics in the members cars section most are projects others are doing but then theres a diary effect when you post the pics up you can always go back and look and then see how much the capri has change since you owned it

    Welcome indeed ..
just like Gary, although a little closer, I too have heard of Essex.. Some folks (often clever) think it was the best engine to fit in a Capri...

Enjoy this place and as Rog said get the diary started - its really clever, unlike fb it will not disappear !!

Looking forward to seeing her. I'm lucky enough to have 3 capri friends on the door step one of which is Paris blue. Gorgeous colour.
    Welcome and keep us updated
    Cheers

Welcome, I too have a 2.8i S, I like any Capri, so I'm not biased, and I am slowly going through my 2.8 to make it mine.

Thanks for the friendly welcome guys.
It does seem strange bringing Cologne to essex, rather than the other way round!
Yes, brakes are dire compared to modern stuff. Gulp!!
Got a couple of pics....... more to follow.

The last owner restored the underneath and all inner arches etc 9 years ago and its not seen the rain since. Its a credit to him tbh. He has done a great job.
Luckily no welding to the underside was needed.
