Out of desparation I bought one of the above for my race car 3ltr.
Pleasently surprised when opening the box, really nicely welded etc. It came with a level sender that I had no intention of using, but have now changed my mind. Question is, when I asked the seller about fitting a guage, all I got was"you just need a resister". Anyone else used one of these tanks and how did you connect it please.

    capri obviously!
With latex gloves and a hazmat suit :p

I see the principle of using a resistor, which is basically what the fuel sender does. I used a Chinese ally radiator, when I needed a filler neck for it I bought one off eBay and had the rad modified by someone welding

edit: just saw it came with a sender so my post is probably no use to you. You need to use a meter to get the resistance range of the sender you have. Then work from there

standard Capri fuel gauge will be looking for a range of 10-74 ohms at 5V ..
have fun with that .. a Capri tank made in China ... trolls at work here by sound of it ..

Coming from you, thats a bit of a surprising comment!
No troll, just someone asking a question. And the tank was bought last summer as a stop gap till I have the time to make my own.

Sorry, the Troll thing was not aimed at you, It was the idea that someone in china was advertising and producing a Capri tank ...
I take it the tank is not Capri specific having now read your further comments ..
my original resistance values still stand though ...
can we see a pic for an idea... in particular even just the sender ...
