    Aha, very nice ..
Saw the chap selling it, his brothers I believe..
Tried to get it done himself but usual family stuff got on the way..
Got a few rough edges but apparently nothing particularly worrying..
Being the proud owner of a C-plate Laser myself (Sept 85 build) I will like seeing you succeed..
    What’s your build date?
    Mine is FC.. what’s yours?

Hi Alan yep that's the one it was late brothers he wanted to keep the car after his brother sadly passed away as it was the last memory of him that he had and his intention was to restore it but sadly he realised that he couldn't.good to hear that you also have a c plate laser aswell where would I find the build date I've had a look on the logbook and its first registration was January 1986

if you look at the chassis number on the VinTag on slam panel (RHS of centre, drivers side)..
you will see - GAEC xx 12345 - where xx is the last 2 letters before the 5 numbers - that is your build date code..
my date of registration was - think - February 1986 ..

actually looking at your pics.. I am suddenly reminded of the red Laser bought end of June 1999 .. originally registered D849KSJ ..
I bought it to replace my Krystall Blau Laser D66JLS, that got squished in the middle of a 13 car pile-up ..
I did get to my mates wedding in the July in the red car, but had been booked on P&O with the blue ..
Bought, a few bits changed over, and straight down to Weiden (Bavaria) within 10 days of purchase .. Was always a good tourer that one !!

    - July 1999 ..

D66 lives on.. A very good friend bought her in 2008.. and our mate took her on in 2018.. getting lots of love.. Will need to see now how things progress ..
    thanks C22 for stirring a memory !

Wow I didn't realise that you did well to walk away from a 13 car pile up,the red laser you got to replace it with looked in really good condition and at least its still around today and by the sounds of it still in good condition.

Didn’t like the reg of the red car, so with the consent of my insurance company, I did a cherished number transfer, got D66JLS transferred onto the red one..
The blue one went for recycling
