Is there one where you can put a part number in and find out what car it’s for?

There were a such site for newer Fords, Fordpartsuk, but they seems to have stopped as their site reads "Ford Parts UK Are No Longer Supplying Ford Parts & Accessories"

Would be handy as I still have some new in bag bolts for Mondeo I no longer need as I scrapped it last year.

Pretty sure I’ve tried to do this on Motomobil site in the past. Or just try putting the part number in to Google or eBay - I’ve had results that way too before.

part numbers are copyright by the owner.. If Ford dont publicise it.. we wont find out!
theres fisches out there, there are even paper copies of the parts catalogues, and there are folk that have a memory of numbers ..
Finis Codes are the way to interrogate a part more accurately, as that crosses model boundaries ..
It would be a mountain of work to try and list everything available for our Capris outside the Ford system.. and no-one will

Why no Capri!!!!, I remember going to my local Ford dealer with whom our club had a good relationship and going through their microfisches for finis codes until they were scrapped, had I known that was going to happen I would have grabbed them. They must be out there, I suspect Ford would have no objection to publish them on this site and Fordopedia, it's in their interest to have Ford petrol heads remain Ford.

I've seen it done with the microfiche as well, but not from any other published source.

I had two readers burn up in that shed fire some years ago, bought for $3 each from a county surplus auction.

Such a scanner may be in J.Bonds armoury, however a webcam connected to a microscope would help, just throwing out ideas.
