Hi all I have updated the forum to a brand new platform. Most of the data has been retained. You will be glad to hear you no longer need to use a image hosting company (goodbye photobucket). You can upload your pictures straight into the post you are making by clicking on 'Upload a file'. This will also be alot more secure for us all too as the previous software was nearly 10 years old. One of the problems with the move is that the old forum had both a login name and a display name. This forum only uses the login name. So if anyone wants this changing, please email admin@capripower.co.uk from the email you have registered with us. Also if you spot any other problems please let us know. Thanks
I’ve noticed the members section is a table of most likes and most posts etc, when does the competition end and what’s the price for first place??
excellent Work Nick.. All your hard work most certainly appreciated from here.. now have to learn to navigate all over again!
Hi Nick The new format looks great, and the picture hosting on the site is a huge step forward. I did try to upload a pic but it says the file size was too large. What is the maximum size allowed? I think I need to get some resizing app on my phone! Cheers, Steve.
At the moment we cant offer many features over the normal ones, so its not something we could re-implement at the mo.
I tried logging in as "Cash & Burn" and it said no such member could be found. That much working well, but if you hire me, I'll find him.
Thanks Nick, looks nice! Just one quick question, I assume PM's that were sent before the changeover will still be showing/sent to inboxes from before the change?
Im sure they have mate, all my PMs seem to be intacked that I have sent/recieved, but if in doubt resend mate.
Er, I seem to have the same problem, and don't know how to resize without a prescription. Is there a technology-based solution?
OK chaps - found one anomaly.. in the messenger system.. any URLs for info, or indeed any attached files have not transferred thru the change.. I have also found the URLs / web addresses in some of the technical sections have not transferred .. I'll do my best to get them replaced. If anyone got files / plans / drawings from me in messenger now finds them not there [but only a reference] - let me know and I'll send them again.. but please if poss, be specific! I got hundreds of the buggers!
Still I need to ask point-blank, how does one "resize" a pic? I've groped through the menus I can open and see nothing hopeful. My superior command of technology leaves me feeling it's not a fault of the new forum, but might indicate a fault in my head.
a quick google of how to resize images found many options, this one seemed informative mate https://www.windows10forums.com/threads/resize-photos-using-windows-10.4927/
Thanks, Gary - I'm using a Mac, and frankly didn't understand much of what showed on that link. I might be one of those platforms "they" don't support any more.... Ooh, no, I just found an item in the tools menu that says "adjust size" - But then it opens a box like I know what to do with it.....
on windows easiest way to resize, is right click the image you want to post, click edit, the image will open in a new window, at the top there is a resize option, which opens an options box (resize and skew) select percentage, (should show 100) delete that and try 50, make sure maintain aspect ratio is ticked. Never used a Mac, Crash, but im guessing the adjust size will be similar.
Thanks much ! I've now found my way through to making it work, so it seems to matter less that I don't understand what I'm doing...
if uploading pics ... don't forget to click the 'full image' button, or else you get left with a 'thumbnail' .. .. .. must admit I still like using PostImage ..
