I believe the old photobucket system I used to use has put a watermark over any photos I had previously uploaded (many years ago)….soooo, what is the preferred option nowadays folks??

errrrr…….hold on I may have stumbled upon something as I was creating this message, lets see if it uploads along with the text????

All of those with watermarks on the Photobucket pictures, has gone over their storeage size or bandwidth and need to upgrade to a paid account, or the next one up if you are a paying member already.
As soon as they have upgraded their account, the watermark will be gone.

I still use Photobucket, and can't be bothered to move 13000+ pictures to something else.
For that reason I'm gladly paying 5 bucks a month.

It really should be a straight forward job, aaarghhh, just hopeing the picture works and I can use my tablet for pics instead of my phone.

I have found a setting on my phone to post pics, not exactly straight forward.

Drives me nuts not being able to direct post Flickr links on here. When I do try and upload pics from the camera it says they're too big. I have to take a screen shot and post that. For example I copy the URL from Flickr:

    https://flic.kr/p/Z4466N

To view you will have to click on it. Total pita. Another way is I download it from Flickr at a lower resolution to be upload it here.

I would post more stuff on here if it was easier. I frequent 2 other forums that take direct Flickr links and a 3rd that accepts larger files. So much easier.

you can upload direct pics to the forum, using the uploader, but need (apparently) to have pics at max 2 meg, and it seems that moby phones aren't the choice of kings!
Keep it old school, laptop or desktop .. computers work, phones appear to be fussy !
you could use PostImage - similar idea to fotofukkit, safe and free for now but who knows the future .. well I get by and am an utter Luddite at this stuf ..

I pay for Flickr. It is afaiac the slickest photo platform there is. I use for the two forums I spend most time on that also use the same website architecture.

I've tried Tinypic and PostImage in the past. I'm simply not prepared to have to start using one platform just for CP. I just post less than I would. I'm doing all sorts of interesting stuff outside of CP which has crossover that I might otherwise post. For instance a 3D printed Makita battery to <any old crap make 18V tool that's sat gathering dust 'cos the battery has died" adapter. Only able to upload these renders directly here as they're small. The "journey" to get here is Flickr images.

Hi all, I have thought about it and Ive upgraded the upload size to work with most phones. It will obviously take up alot of space on the server which may be an issue down the line. But we are not as busy as we used to be so should be ok for the forseable future.

    If it's a case of £...

I'd be happy if you reinvoked the set "Gold" membership fee tba. Seem to recall you suggested donations to cancer research was it instead? I must admit I did it the once and have forgotten all about it since.

This forum doesn't support that system unfortunately, we will be ok for a while I expect, as with everything it does come down to money at the end of the day, but just asking people to use it for this site only and not for storing pics for other sites. We had that trouble in the past.

We can do it as a trial and see how it goes I think.

as before, and I have been lax !!
as a poor pensioner now, I would still be happy to provide a contribution to this forum remaining ..
I know all the fast-guns seem to anchor their ideals onto fb .. but really a framed structure and menu suits me just fine..
need info or want to look back - easy search, and easy fixed postings .. this is way better ..
    long live CP
