Hello everybody. Just got myself a 1969 MK1 XL 1600 in Fern green just like the one I had in 1974. Maybe some here know the car DVX782G Ultra low mileage 63,000 with just 3 owners from new. First 2 owners had the car for 49 years. Original build sheet and receipt. Car buyer was a Dagenham employee who purchased the car under the company discount scheme. Cost £504, zero shillings and 4d . Folders of history, insurance documents, tax discs and old mot certificates. It's like a mobile museum. Photos shortly.
wow that's a result getting your dream car, sounds like a really nice Capri, looking forward to your photo's
no such thing as .. "just another" .. You have a story & a Capri,, Welcome indeed .. get it all posted up in Members Cars
That's a classic! Very presentable. "Mobile museum" is a great way to go, no better place to show it than the road.
Thanks everyone. Just found a 1969 newspaper in the boot front page the Apollo 11 moon landing July 1969. Also the original Hire Purchase agreement showing £100 deposit and 24 monthly payments of £19 pounds and 10 shillings. And Insurance Certificates for £14 and 7 shillings a year fully comp.
I took this Capri as a part exchange for my 1975 Granada Ghia Coupe. Capri owner number 3 only had the car for 5 months and didn't like it because it was ' to slow '. Maybe it's nostalgia but I love the Capri. AND it has made my garage so much bigger!
And a late welcome also, does look a remarkable car, always hankered after a a Granada Coupe, l do have a 2.8i X pack estate, which has been involved in a colourful past.
