you know how much I think of the Ellingsworth Bomber Command Team - without your help and encouragement I would never have got the courage to get Billy. And now I'm taking part in amazing days like yesterday? Awesome. Incredible. And lots of words that I'd get banned for using.

Bring on next year and The Pink Ladies ;)

That first pic of Si's car is one of the most striking car pics I've ever seen, Clare. All excellent shots, actually. Where's the one of yours and Laser, in front of the Bomber? And did you get any flyover from the activity down the road to occur?

The usual exceptional organisation and attention to detail have led to I think the most successful year yet.

Hi Francis, my Dad has asked me to pass a message on to you. Apparently Chris Evans has been talking about the anniversary of the Dambusters raid and this weekend he will be a passenger in the Battle of Britain Lancaster and will be broadcasting his radio show from the cockpit. Dad has suggested you might text or tweet Chris about what we all did last week - it might bring publicity/fundraising opportunities for East Kirkby. :)

A Fantastic idea. Sorry I did not get time to say ''Hello'' this year our paths last crossed in 2011 at ''The Lancaster Mark 4'' and also at Wellesbourne the same year. I will be showing Mazda MX5 and ''Driving'' The 280 at Carfest North for ''Children in Need'' this year and know what a ''mention'' from Mr Evans could/would achieve. A Great Idea well worth a try.

Thanks, Fran. :thumbup1: I went through all 451 pics, and can easily see why anyone would regret missing this event. Looks like the weather was perfect, the Bomber was majestic from every angle, and all the cars, enviable. Evie got a proper display, what a mark in her life! Next year, I promise, you will see Rumbly and A666 parked in that same spot! (If I'm wrong, please find it in your heart to blame Rambo...) :guitar3:

I heard the same announcement on my way to work on Monday the week after ...
I wrote an eMail to chris.evans@bbc.co.uk thru the radio2 website ...
I decided that I would resend every morning till he mentions on the show, so he might just give us a shout...
or I'll get blocked, or get reported for harrassement... any way to date it has been sent 12-13 times now,
I first heard Chris mention it on Monday 23rd April ...

Subject: Lancaster Bomber Info PLEASE READ

    Chris
Your forthcoming trip in a Lancaster sounds great.
Please be aware that in Lincolnshire there is another Lancaster called 'Just Jane' being
preserved with the plan to return to the skies in about 2 years time.
Give a mention to the Panton Family at East Lincs Aviation Trust, East Kirkby Lincolnshire.

    http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/

We get together every year for our Capri Power Bomber Run, this years event was the
weekend 20th April, the idea was started by one of our members (Steve Cash) who found a
Ford Capri advertising poster dated 1980, where Ford photographed a Capri 3 litre S in
front of a Lancaster. We then contacted East Lincs for a chance to recreate the photo …
that was the start of an event that gets bigger every year. This year we managed to get
71 Capris on site, plus a few other chosen Fords, and it was again (as it is every year) the
    best event ever…
We make a collection for MacMillan Nurses at the event, this year over £600 was
    collected and handed over.

Special mention must go to Francis Ellingworth (Laser) and his Family who do the organising
and who just make this day just so enjoyable for us Ford Capri Drivers
