Mk3 Capri - 1978 to 1987 on the road prices

    Attached photo gives you the prices it would have cost you for a brand new Capri in the years from 1978 to 1987.

    How does this compare to ‘now’ prices if you want to buy the same Capri?

    I think you could happily add about 12k to all those prices, maybe even a little more further down the line.

    Yes,i nearly lost the fingerprint of my forefinger with amount of times I had to press various buttons on keyboard to create that . Sir.

    Today, they could find a way to charge those prices for an owner's manual.
    (And if they could link it to your phone, they'd sell out.) ;)

    I would have thought that any 1.6LS models sold in October 1984 would purely be old stock models. They started building the Laser models in April/May (mine's a May build) and as far as I can remember they initially were sold as a limited edition along with the Escort and Sierra Laser model before becoming a mainstream model in about October 1984.

    I think there must have been quite a few old stock of all models around at that time as both my cars were registered on 1/8/84 but my 2.0S was built in the February.

    Oh I wish you could buy a new one for those prices these days.
