My 3.0S was restored before I bought it and has the proper standard exhaust and I want to fit a bigger bore performance one. Any recommendatiosn? Sportex looks ok and decent price??

I've got Sportex on my 2.8i. Fits ok (unless you have it lowered and the rear leafs will foul the pipes where they pass above them) and sounds great. However, on a longer drive the noise becomes intrusive and I'm going to have an aditional pair of silecers welded in to each side under the front seat area. This should keep the nice deep sound but cut back on some of the booming.

I've got a full stainless Janspeed system mated to standard manifolds and for me it is perfect.

To qualify that, it sounds great at tickover and when you use it in anger but when you're cruising it settles right down. I was worried how it would sound as I didn't want something that was too loud all the time. I'm really pleased that my set up has the balance I was looking for too - nice looking too as well as being a period correct upgrade.

I'm currently taking it back off as I want to polish the whole thing, wish I'd done that before it went on really.

    Anyway, hope it helps.

And you know what? It was seeing Chris's (back when he did that) that gave me the idea to polish them, which is the beauty of all the car threads that members go to the effort of making. :thumbup1:

Sadly, due to logistics etc, they had to be fitted prior to me being able to get them polished. I will be cheating though, there's a firm about 20 miles from me that just polish metal in industrial quantities. ;) I just can't be arsed to sit there with a mop on a drill doing it. :boxedin:

No not every day but at every opportunity on sunny days off work. It's not a trailer queen by any means, I couldn't own it on that basis - I love driving it too much. Cheers. :thumbup1:

I've got an Ashley system on mine and it sounds great, lovely little rumble and not too bad when at high speed, quite fun to rev it next to parked cars and then speed off when it sets off the alarms. Don't think they are anywhere near as pricey as the Janspeed systems either but obviously you get what you pay for

Ive got a stainless Magnex system on the v8 and I love the sound of it.

Sportex systems sound nice on 2.8i's , Ive fitted a few and decided to fit one on the 3.0S , it sounds lovely but it really noisy between 2300-3200 RPM when cruising .... To the point that Im thinking of taking them off
