While body works continiues, I also think about accessories and look of car. First I ordered banded wheels from local manufacturer. (Wheels are originally cortina mk5 wheels.) They are turned to 7" wheels. Kumho semi slick track tyre 215/50R13 is added to rear. Front is 185/60R13. IMG-20200622-WA0003.jpg

Mercedes E350 coupe electric controlled seats (will be covered as cappucino tan letaher), wallnut steering wheel, and wooden cluster fascia. Thanks Garry for fascia because he sent it from USA.

I don't want to cut that beatiful wooden fascia to use aftermarket radio. So I bought a classic ford radio. Of course bezel is not suitable for capri. New bezel is manufactured with 3d printer.

Body shop finished new roof panel, trunk lid and fender flares. Rear window washer and spray is canceled. Those are good for only extra weight and roof rust. IMG-20210825-WA0010.jpg IMG-20210825-WA0012.jpg IMG-20210825-WA0013.jpg

Excellent, saving a Capri that way. It did want more miles on the clock, and now looks sure to get them in style. Capri Power in action, look how it works!

    lovely work youre doing..
I have a question - the carburretor. what is it, it looks different to the usual 32/36 DGAS .. and why an electrical connector on it?

and an observation for you with the distributor .. its a trigger insert I take it ..
so Black wire as normal where you contact breaker (CB) wire goes - coil negative/revcounter wire ..
Red wire - do not connect to the coil positive - wire that direct to an ignition controlled live feed .. most likely fuse 5-6-7 .. depending what model or year your Capri is ..
    Enjoy the final build up
    Looking good Koko

Thanks all. Carburetor is 32/36 dgav that used in 92 turkish made ford taunus 2.0. My mechanic told me that, 12v ignition feed needed to let the fuel in carburetor. When igntion off, fuel is blocked.

I will post some photos about new engine and interior next week.

aha - a fuel stop valve - well, if youre lucky on your wiring harness there may be a specified connexion for it underneath the headlamp relay ..
on much later Capri models that were fitted with the VV carburettor, or those with the electric choke, that was the specified connexion ..
same wiring position is perfect for the different types of electronic ignition kits and triggers (like yours)

the headlamps were actually a design carry over in '78 from the federal version of the 74 Capri II .. so you're still all Capri II there .. and it works well..
the lamps will work completely as designed, and the stupid '78 facelift over-hang will not be there to disrupt the beam ..
My brother fitted a set to his '77 Capri II (VSG237R) way back, even the bezels fit perfectly with that earlier top line of the wing & the bonnet ..
if you have friends with later versions on same lights, they will be jealous !!

no speaker grille in the dash.. I liked the feature as I use it for my CB remote output !!
lots of 'free wiring' going on on your dashboard.. a conversion, or the original wiring not good?

can i ask, why have you got a jump lead from battery to bumper, i know there has to be a reason and more than likely a very simple one that i cant seem to think of, and my curiosity has got the better of me im afraid

Former wiring of car was in very bad condition. That's why all wiring remade. Fuseboxes are changed. Some new cable lines for carburetor, Heated electric controlled seats, new courtesy lights for interior etc are solved at the same time.

Nice work on the dash pad. I'll be opening up one or two of my panels like your last pic soon. But, I've been meaning to ask where you got the strut brace - Looks like it could work for mine.

I bought it from ebay Garry. "Wiechers Domstrebe für Ford Capri Domstrebe Stahl vorne oben 161001" this was the part label. They have some options such as 2.8, turbo, 3.0. I bought 2.0 one, but I was not sure until it fitted. (because no message or warning about brace for 2.0 pinto or 2.0 cologne). search on ebay "wiechers capri". They still have goods.

    well done KoKo
looking really good.. so many nice touches in your build ..
one worry I need you to have a little investigation ..
looks like power is on, engine is not running, so alternator is not creating power .. but the ammeter is showing a high charge rate @
have you got a wiring problem??
be careful - the ammeter is wired direct onto the main battery power ring under the hood, you have no control over the circuit !
this may be a problem !!
    upload_2022-1-19_0-43-57.png

    diagram for the ammeter wiring
    ammeter wires.JPG
please check why you are showing such a high reading..
