Do you ever regret doing someone a favour!
I let my mates son do an engine swap up my unit yesterday, so today I had to drop my black ST220 up there to do some work on it next week and also check he had put all my tools away and turned off the compressor and lights.
As soon as I opened the door I noticed a few capri spares on the floor by the shutter door, as I walked round the side to pick them up I noticed a big plastic container that I had put some spares in free of charge for someone to pick up (which they never did!) upside down by the rear quarter of one of my cars, as I went to pick them up I noticed a nice scratch on the rear quarter down to bare metal!
My mates son had moved the container as it was on the floor and put it on top of my grit/glass media for my sand blasters and it had fallen off over night and hit my car!
It could have been a lot worse as in the container was a 2.8 flywheel, starting motor and alternator, but luckily the container hit the side of the car first and spit them bits towards the back of the car!

Oh bugger, I think I'd be pi**ed off, my mate has a unit that he would let a young lad work in there, but on one occasion he left all the lights and the burner heater on and left the door open after be had finished working on his car, that was the last straw.

He's got no money Flash, he don't even know yet but I'll be seeing his old man tomorrow as he has the unit next door to mine. He couldn't use his old mans as there are cars in there which can't be moved at the moment.

Many years ago I worked at a service station with a full shop. One day, several Hells Angels rode in and asked the owner if they could borrow his shop that night. He was afraid to say no. When he came back in the morning, the place was spotless clean, a brake job he had in progress was done, both lifts serviced and cleaned, windows too. He'd neglected to leave the keys to lock the place, so two members were waiting on site to guard it until he arrived.

Funny you said review my security, one of the main reasons going up today was also to take photos and mileage for my insurance company as I had just reinsured them this week as where I've been ill for a couple of years and not working up there I had let the insurance lapse thinking they are safe in a secure unit, and with what happened to mgentry90 last week kind of panicked me! so they are all insured again now thank god! although not looking in good condition as they all need a bloody good clean.
my poor old red tickford being neglected!

my xpack 280 that I haven't touched now for over 5 years, all my blasting work will need to be done all again where it's been so long!

I do have a couple more but kept in other garages, a black tickford, white 2.8i special, (forest green 2.8 and a black 2.8i special ungaraged) and a few other fords!
I will be selling a few over the next year so I can concentrate on my xpack as my health isn't good. My plan is to keep my black tickford, one standard 280, and the the xpack 280 and sell everything else.
I've got no children of my own so I've left my black tickford and a 280 in my will to a neighbours two sons who live across the road from me, they both have grown up admiring them and I know Jack the eldest one will cherish the tickford, Ben the younger one is still a party animal and I think that would be sold straight away as I can't see him changing lol!
I haven't decided what to do with the xpack. I've been collecting parts for that since 1990, that's when I bought the bodykit which is on top of the shell in the pic. In my attic I have a brand new turbotail spoiler I bought in Germany in 93, 2 brand new rs steering wheels also I bought from there. (3 spoke and 4 spoke) will decide which one to fit when its done, a couple of n/s remote mirrors again from Germany as I don't know why Fords put that stupid mirror on the uk cars. All other parts have been powder coated or painted 2pac black and stored ready for the build.
Just got to get the energy now to get back at it!

Sending a digital kick in the pants. If it doesn't work, we have Bill Gates to blame.

You can never have to many cars and you don’t have to drive them to enjoy them. A Mk1 Focus RS is definitely on my wish list.

For a front wheel drive car the handling is exceptional, even up their with an escort cosworth or rs2000 4x4 and even my old audi quattro turbo I had years ago, but the every day drive of it on the poor state of our roads shakes your fillings out!
Get good dental cover before you buy one!

I bought that for the Mrs and she loved it.
It's up for sale next month if your interested, low mileage and low owners.
I've just done the cam belt and head gasket, new power steering rack, new brakes all round and just replaced all the metal coolant pipes as they rust out really quick on the rs.
A company do stainless replacements but I used genuine ford parts as always.
I've just taken the wheels off today to get them powder coated this week and then she's having a bit of paintwork on front bumper and n/s rear quarter from stone chips and then she's being listed.

I would love to buy your Focus RS but I quite simply can’t afford the amount they sell for. I will keep an eye out for the add when you decide to sell.
