Hi All, I stupidly missed the boat when these were for sale and now cannot find one apart from in America which actually costs more to post than the book itself . I am asking if anybody on here in the UK has a copy they may wish to sell, perhaps some bought more than one copy perhaps? Anyhow, I’ll wait and hope. Stay safe. PS Administrators - I have posted this in Capri’s & Parts Wanted section too but it isn’t really a part so I’ve tried here too. I will amend both posts if I get a result. Thanks.
well done Monsieur.. not collected books for a while now.. My favourite is still the Jeremy Walton Capri book..
that book is what started me off on the book side Al bought it for £2 in a charity shop in Kings Lynn so many years back (id just moved to Norfolk) and the rest, as they say, is history Last book i bought was Steves book and still havent got round to reading it all yet
my Grandfather bought me the first issue of 'Capri: The Development and Competition History of Ford's European G.T. Car' for a Christmas prezzy.. now my Grandpa was a bit of a gent, and although he knew I liked my car at the time, I had no idea he would have known anything to send him that way.. Blinder couple of years later, he bought me the 3rd edition, where the book had been updated to include the 28 and all.. both copies have his signature in them and the are my utter prize possessions .. all the detail, all the facts and history, the writing style.. Just means so much .. My Grandpa was married to the younger sister of Frederick W Allard - Chief Mechanical Engineer of Armstrong Siddeley .. now I knew my Grandpa didn't have a mechanical bone, he never even drove a car (cyclist all his life) but the stories he used to tell.. whooooo.. That's what the books mean to me, a tangential reminder of that man that shaped me..
Alan do me a favor send me your address so i can post that ford dealer manual to you its only been 10 years since we missed passing it over as we screamed past you at revsby after the lanc on the way to finns !
