I looked up, a shining light descended from the heavens and enlightened me. In the middle of this shimmering cloud of warmth and knowledge I was converted. As the Lord did say to Moses and the Israelites, come fourth! but he came second and won a balloon. Same thing here, I have been chosen. Life will never be the same. Finn.

Just took A666 out around the Fens. Jesus wept! I had forgotten how harsh the ride is and just how noisy the bloody thing is! Taxed and tested for 12 months, by that time I will be over 70, time to pass him on to Matthew I think. Finn.

just switch off the hearing aid, and sit on a cushion.. sorted .. Don't you ever give in, who will I look to for inspiration?
and don't ever hand a car over for free, thats how kids get to die quick.. no appreciation of value

I threw the hearing aids away years ago, bloody nuisance, but! a small cushion is not a bad idea, will try that. I must admit though the second and third time I took him out were brilliant, caused a stir at the petrol station when I was filling up. Certainly puts a smile on peoples faces, including mine. Finn.

And don't ever hand over a car for free, is very true CC, so many of the new generation have been gifted by there parents really nice cars when they have passed there test, in the past year, I have been to 4 crashes that were a result of lack of talent, all friends of my youngest son, he was actually in one of the crashes, demolished an Armco then a lamp post, luckily no one seriously injured, Grand Theft Auto has a lot to answer for.

my parents advice to me rings true ..
awreet son, you want a car.. OK, you choose, you get your budget, we will check it out ( Luckily my Dad knew his stuff back then!) ..
If we think its a good deal, and the people selling appear to be half-way decent, we will allow you to buy your car ..
and then you are liable to look after it, fund the operation of it and any indemnity of it ..
I did buy my first car by myself,
my Dad did come out and check it over ..
and nowadays, I look after my car, I help my Dad look after his when asked ..
    there are no other terms..
kids today have not a jot of an idea..
modern parents these days need a kick up the Ass - with a way big boot ..

I took one of my mates with me to buy my first car, we were both 17, but he was an expert. I need advice as I was paying a lot of money for a Morris Minor, so wanted to be sure it was a good one. £20! Finn. SAM_0664.JPG

Good old Morris Minor. A mate of mine had one with a Ford V4 in and sidwinder exhaust. Every time he went to pull away the axle would twist against the rear springs. It definitely had character.
