Rick and I have recently purchased a 1970 Capri. She started life as a 1600 Deluxe and was converted to a GT 3000 with a V6 Essex engine. She is up for a full restoration but the mean time we enjoy driving her as she is.

Welcome, can't beat a Mkl, especially an Essex, how long you had the car? Still on the bucket list to come over and tour.

Living a good life in Oz - Nice ride, you don't find "rolling restoration" candidates any better than that.

welcome to the forum, i spend time over in Australia, or at least did till the plague hit, most of my time was in South Australia but did travel a little, you have some awesome machines over there and did do a few car shows although the Capri side was thin on the ground abit the ones we did see were beautiful cars,
yours looks really tidy, will it be going back to original or keeping it as it is?

In Australian terms then, just up the road from my cousin in Albany :D:D

One day me & the higher domestic authority will get out there to see her, bloody covid permitting

Enjoy the journey with your great looking Capri :)

Well we can do basically what we like with the car as she started life as a 1970 Deluxe! Quit a decent conversion done in the 1990's. We will keep the current colour and add a bit of black pinstriping. :)

Fingers crossed, you don't have horrendous rust and rot to deal with as is often the case over here.

Welcome in, its nice to see just how well the Capri is thought of in Australia..
We have friends in Perth, the whole family emigrated there mid-90s I think.. they certainly seem to think its the right move!
