I bought a Clark engine stand, the instructions specify imperial nuts and bolts not specifying whether they are UNC, UNF or even Whitworth, told by Machine Mart they're likely to be UNC. I always purchace Nyloks to replace spring washers and nuts, I was a bit peeved to find they're metric. Before I make another balls up replacing these nuts and bolts what size should the bolts be for bell housing to cologne engine be.

You'd be convinced if I tell you I live less than 30 miles from those who fought at Rourkes drift, figuratively that is.

    10mm x I think 1.0 pitch. 100 mm length should work.

An engine stand refers to a contraption at bench height so an engine can be turned, dissembled comfortably and kept clean. A test stand is a far more substantial affair so that the engine can be run complete and usually connected to a dyno.

Worked that out, standard course metric thread, cheers, went out and bought some decent ones yesterday. The Clarke ones were 'like a prick in a bucket' (workshop parlance for slightly undersize ).
