Will be adding a ribbon to the Capri for a wedding and was wondering about where to fix to for best look etc. any of you done this or have photos of what you think looks best?
well here's a selection for you .. The Capris wearing their ribbons at my wedding in 2010 - Isobel's Tartan ..
easy way.. make a loop in the middle of the ribbon, simple knot, enough to go round the spike, but the knot stays under the hood, not visible. lower the bonnet down but do not secure it. tails up to the cabin thru the door and secured onto the sunvisor post (swivel) before hacking up as tight as you can get it, make sure the ribbon is flat and even over the front of the hood, and as high up the door pillar you can - tighten your knots .. Happy? secure the hood .. It helps when both yer Mam n Dad were both wedding chauffeurs in the past ..
on our Honeymoon tour - 2 weeks & 1800 miles around Scotland .. .. .. .. the ribbons only got tweeked a couple of times !!
2 cars from my wedding My Laser: My Dad's GL: Ribbons were looped around the front grille centre support and tucked in under the door seals (between seal and A pillar flange) to keep them high at the door tops.
Brilliant idea putting the ribbons under the seals .. am gonna remember that trick, 'cos you are right, they sit really nice and high .. good trick !
At the Wing Commanders daughters wedding last year we slightly unscrewed the interior A pillar moulding & slid the ends behind & tightened them back up again, no tape needed & they stayed nice & tight
Wedding cars always look fabulous. I love classic-style wedding cars from the 1940’s through to the 1980’s. https://www.poptop.uk.com/venue/therefineryspinningfields/ - my son decided to rent a Rolls Royce for his wedding celebration.
